I have been looking at other blog options for a while now since I started out with zoomin (which started out good and then got worse...). LJ was one option as well as Blogger. Well, I finally decided that Wordpress is the best choice for me.

I feel inspired

Last night was Juneborgs monthly sewing circle, this time at our home. The previous sewing circles has been small, two - three people usually and I've been thinking about things to do to increase the number of participants. No answers yet.

Last night on the other hand was different. There were 6 of us in various stages of discussing project and sewing, two tag-along spouses and a cute baby. Hurray!

I was working on eyelets on my short-sleeved self-supporting dress and got lots done! Also, we've been discussing making a beginners guide to garb, one male one female, with a few easy models and a how-to guide. Erich and me discussed this extensively last night and plans are definitely in the making! It will be a great thing for new members in Juneborg and maybe others can use it too.

A mathematical equation

My students have just started struggeling with algebra and equations. Maybe I should give them this one as an example:

heavy snow and wind last Friday + living in the countryside = no phone for 5 days
no phone for 5 days ---> no internet = having to give your professor the lamest exuse ever as to why you can't turn in your paper.

Maybe I should've just told him that the dog at it...

BTW, the phone work again yesterday. Yay!

New shoes

frualeydis always make me envious with all the pretty shoes she buys. So, I thought I'd make a contribution to the see-what-kind-of-shoes-I-bought-today-posts.

I finally got myself a decent pair of boots for autuum and winter. Compared to frualeydis spiffy high heels... well she works at Gothenburg University - I'm a teacher at a High School of Natural Resources - enough said!

On another note
I finally managed to sit down and do some tabletweaving! Yay me!
I'm currently working on a project comparing colours and designs in different materials. Here's a wool band that's almost finished. Next one will be same design but the colours (yellow and red) switched, the material will be silk. I've already made a wool band with switched colours.

Going international!?

I've had a project on my mind for a while now. Recently I've been starting to read several blogs regularly and since most of them are in english (by non-swedish people) I've been thinking of switching my swedish blog to an english one.
Same concept - different language.
The problem now is that I'm thinking about leaving the zoomin-community where I have my swedish blog and put it somewhere else. LJ and Blogger are two options.
Hmm.. decisions decisions.

A small note

I'm keeping this account mostly as a way to keep updated with my friends here on LJ. So don't expect any regular posting. In the meantime - please check out my website Stoltes Sömnad (still only in swedish unfortunately). That's were I keep all my sewing, weaving and other interesting crafts.
